My students are in need of different board and card games. Social skills are skills that we use to interact and communicate with others. Throughout our lives, we communicate and perceive social cues and rules through verbal and nonverbal methods. Strong social skills can help my students succeed in school and later when they get a job. Many students with special needs struggle with developing social skills. It is hard for our students to maintain friendships and how to act in social situations. Our students struggle to act socially appropriate while playing games. All board games promote social skills because they require two or more people to take turns and respect other players. These games will help with morals, manners, empathy, friendship and showing and managing emotions.
