In second grade, we are learning to read and reading to LEARN! We are getting ready to tackle main idea, and we would love some new books! The books that we have chosen are based on topics that my students LOVE learning about! We will use these in our classroom as we study finding the main idea of a text, but we will also be able to use these books all year! These fun, colorful books will enhance our instruction as we delve into learning about text features, research, and context clues. Each of these books also has a picture glossary, which will be beneficial to my many ELL learners! We are also requesting a FUN main idea literacy game! This game will be used in a center so that students are able to practice this skill independently!
