I have 28 wonderful first graders. They range in age from 5 to 8 years old. They are eager to learn however, have many obstacles in their way. Many students come from single parent homes, where the parents are struggling to make ends meet. They are a great bunch of kids and are well behaved, eager to please. I am trying to maintain their excitement to learn. I teach in an inner city school, with a large population of English Language Learners. We are a K-5 school.
