My class' goal is to is to participate in three sports within Special Olympics: Volleyball, Basketball and Track and Field. We are planning to go to the State Games in Arlington, TX in May 2018. In order for our team to practice and compete we need access to water, which means we need coolers and water bottles. We also need uniformed shorts, socks and t-shirts in our school colors. It is extremely difficult time for many of those who were affected by Hurricane Harvey. Participating and competing as an individual athlete or as a team is one of the most important pathways for young adults with Intellectual Disabilities which makes them validated as any other athlete. This project is to help it become a reality for my students!
