Welcome to Mrs. Thompson's 4th grade math and science classroom! In order to be successful, I believe students should have the opportunity to be inspired by others, as well as to be inspirational. Opportunities for both to happen simultaneously and continuously must be provided. This learner-centered environment encourages students to participate in activities that allow them to grow academically, emotionally, and socially. Creativity is built upon imagination, intuition, inquiry, and experimentation. It is my goal to ensure my students are allowed hands-on activities that foster such curiosity, as it encourages higher-level thinking and problem solving. Incorporating higher levels of experimentation and creativity with research-based methods and strategies promotes active participation and positive learning experiences for all students, despite differences in learning styles, abilities, or resources.
