Our students attend a Title I school in Metro Atlanta. They are outgoing and enthusiastic about learning when challenged to think outside the box. They frequently ask about various music instruments that are not present in the school. However the lack of certain resources does not hinder them from wanting to learn about them. They create their own songs and choreography not only when they come to music class but in their free time as well. I can remember numerous times that students come to me asking to perform something they wrote for the class. They support and encourage each other unlike any other students I've met at other schools. They have a unique excitement for performing for their peers. Many students are shy at the elementary stage. Also many ridicule each other at that stage. But not my students. When I noticed it I made it my mission to give them every performance opportunity I can give them to make these years as memorable for them as possible....
