High school students spend approximately 6-7 hours a day in class. For the vast majority of class time, students are sitting! Studies have discovered links between increased time spent sitting throughout the day and increased health problems. In addition to potential health risks, students tend to get fidgety and/or sleepy from excessive sitting, making it more difficult for them to focus and learn! These four standing desks will provide my students with the option to stand while they complete classwork! The last school I worked at had standing desks available for students and the advantage couldn't be more clear. Students begged to work at the standing desks and could focus on tasks longer while standing up! Standing desks are becoming common in the workplace-- why not give our students the same opportunity?
