I teach 1st through 6th grade resource classes to economically disadvanted gifted and talented students. Students from 3 out of the 5 other elementary schools in my school system are bussed to my school in order to combine their gifted students with our gifted students. Although my students have been identified as gifted, the majority of them do not have the same background experiences as what people think of when they think of a "typical" gifted student. I am blessed to be able to teach such a diverse group of students and to provide them with challenging learning opportunities that they may never otherwise be able to experience.
