My students will use these Kindle Kids' Fire tablets for daily practice in our classroom. These tablets will allow them to use a district-provided software program to read leveled books of their choosing. Then, they can record themselves reading for me to listen to later, to help tailor their reading instruction. This independent practice is invaluable because it allows them to be practicing while I am able to meet in small groups with other students on their learning strategies. Many of the students that I work with have had some previous learning struggles, so when they are successful, it is incredibly rewarding! The ability to make choices for one's own learning is an essential component for success.
