My students are from all ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. Many qualify for free and reduced lunch. The students perform research at the high school and on Saturdays in a laboratory at a local medical center. Each year the students fund raise so that they can attend the American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Meeting. The students presented their research in poster sessions at the 2010 ASBMB meeting in Anaheim, California.
