Adding to the classroom library will allow for opportunity to create book clubs and literature circles. The ultimate goal is to develop a love of reading. My students do not always have access to books and current books that can illicit their interest. If I can offer stimulating books for my students then they will have the motivation to seek out books beyond the high school experience. Students that seek out reading material will become liberated and empowered citizens. When they have the opportunity to expand their horizons by opening a book the possibilities are endless. I want my students to see that reading can be empowering.
