Reading is the core of learning and we participate in literacy activities 90% of our day. Promoting balanced literacy is a must and giving students the opportunity to buddy read and read independently requires additional items like analyzing text structure. Literacy activities that promote strategies to enhance and deepen our thinking is a must. Selected items on Teachers Pay Teachers is what my students need. The items include comprehension workouts, theme organizers, strategy posters, and other graphic organizers for their notebooks. Since great readers will be our leaders of the 21 century, having an inviting atmosphere and activities to offer will spark students to continue to do so and soar with literacy.
