Many of our parents were unable to purchase school supplies. If they did supply materials for their student, it was only the essentials. In first grade we do various activities with crayons. Unfortunately our supply of crayons has nearly disappeared. I've learned some children work better when they are able to add a few splashes of color on their page. Other children work best when they can hear what is on the screen in front of them. The headphones sent in by parents were not designed to be used every day. Despite asking for headphones, many sent in earbuds that slowly began to come apart. In order for these children to focus on their own word, they need working headphones.
