Kooky, creative, tenacious! These are just a few adjectives to describe the third graders I am privileged to teach. They are extremely appreciative of what they are given. They are truly Renaissance kids! They want to learn about everything, from getting snails motivated to race to painting their unique perspectives inspired by daily life. And, they love to read and solve tricky math problems. My students attend a small public school of about 350 students in California in a predominantly Spanish-speaking community.
