We would love an online subscription to Flocabulary. As soon as I put on Flocabulary, bam, I have their complete attention! It starts with a catchy tune of music and hip hop sounds that get your body moving. Once hooked, you can't help but listen to what is being said because the words are flashed on the screen. They have learned about ancient civilizations from this wonderful website. This project will allow us to have access to unlimited videos, songs, and worksheets that support the teaching of each video. We'd also love a class set of Scholastic News Magazine. I want my students to be world thinkers. I will be using the magazines weekly to encourage the students to discuss and debate the articles and to enjoy reading about the many interesting places, events and people in their world. These magazines will also help with literacy and comprehension skills which we are always trying to improve! I would like them to realize what is happening around the world and if we could do anything to make the world a better place.
