I have 22 wonderful students of varied socioeconomic, racial and family backgrounds. Their ability level and school experiences are just as varied as their backgrounds. They do, however, have one thing in common. Every one of them deserves the best possible educational opportunities we can give them. We are a Title 1 school, with a large percentage of our students receiving free or reduced lunches. Our parents try very hard to support their children's education, but are not always able to provide them with a wide variety of experiences that help develop them as learners. That is where we, as a school, come in. My classroom is a place where students feel loved, are encouraged to take risks, and get excited about learning new things. It is a busy (and often noisy) place. But if you listen carefully, you just might hear a lot of learning going on!
