Many modern classroom resources are now available online through educational websites and programs. With reliable internet access, scholars can engage in classroom discussions with evidence-based research at their fingertips, explore other cultures to gain background knowledge for reading, practice typing and formatting, create, edit, and manage documents, and create their own graphic organizers or projects. My scholars need to learn how to navigate the internet in much the same way we learned to navigate the library for research, literature, and ideas as children. These 8 Chromebooks would benefit my scholars tremendously through enriched curriculum by offering them exposure to and the development of 21st century skills that will allow them to have a better chance to obtain modern jobs. We want our scholars to be on an even playing field. If they are to have the same future opportunities as children in more financially supported areas, they need to be able to hone their computer literacy skills on something more powerful than a smart phone.
