Scholastic magazines are engaging. high interest materials that my students will benefit from. It will build non-fiction reading skills and increase content area knowledge Each week we can explore current events that will help my students learn about the world around them through specific lessons. My students will be able to have free access to Scholastic News Interactive- an online learning tool featuring digital editions, videos,and interactive features. It is an opportunity for my second graders to become more informed, better readers, thinkers, and writers. The technology component is advantageous because it gives students a chance to gain more insight on daily world news. Parents can also get involved. I can post Scholastic News Online -on my class home page and my students can encourage their parents to read the daily news with them. Scholastic News is motivational, inspirational, and an exciting contribution to our learning environment.
