I usually describe my students as "sponges" as they can't seem to get enough knowledge in their brains. They love to learn. I am amazed by their compassion toward each other and their willingness to share their knowledge and talents with others. They have already begun to change the world one small step at a time. I guess you can tell that I am very proud of my students and blessed to be their teacher. Our rural West Virginia school is lucky to have such a fine group of kids. Many of them aspire to attend college with the help of scholarships as money is limited due to our declining economy. I am confident that my students will become doctors, lawyers, engineers, and quite possibly the first female President! They just need a chance. As a veteran teacher of 35 years, I am in awe of the generosity of strangers who come together and fund educational experiences for our future leaders.
