My students move in and out of groups and partnerships all day long. They are allowed to work in the space that works best for them just about anywhere in our classroom. Through a grant, my students have access to laptops at all times but we feel limited in the places we can use them. They scatter across our room with papers, laptops and partners all of the time. Our biggest worry is making sure that the laptops aren't stepped on while working on the floor. This is a huge distraction to our learning flow. With your help, my students will have safe places to use laptops besides a traditional desk and chair. We need sturdy surfaces that are off of the floor so students can partner, group, or work independently without interruption or fear of their work being stepped on. Having portable and adjustable tabletops will give my students so many options for working. They can safely meet anywhere on the floor or even stand at their desks to work!
