My students are English language learners and most only speak English during school. In 4th grade, multiplication should already be mastered so that students can move forward. Unfortunately, most of the students come to 4th grade only knowing a few facts or none at all. My project aims to bring a stronger reading element into math to help students understand the concept of multiplying as well as dividing. I would like to use these books as an ice breaker when introducing a new concept. I hope that through reading students will begin to comprehend how math and reading go hand in hand.
