Help me create a safe, happy, and engaging classroom for my 6th grade students! My students are 100% English Learners, many of them refugees who have had interrupted schooling and are several years behind grade level in reading. They are hardworking kids who LOVE to learn. Each year, it is a joy to watch them discover their love of books as they learned to speak English and read at the same time. Since most students don't have books at home, our classroom library is a place for them to learn about the world as they experience history, travel to imaginary lands, and journey through adolescence along with their favorite characters.
