These board games will provide my students a fun opportunity to practice 5th grade math skills during Rainy Day Recess and Fun Friday Celebrations for positive behavior. Lots of my students are not provided the opportunities at home to play board games with their families. Who doesn't love a good game night with friends? Help me provide my students with opportunities to play games with their peers! Using board games in math not only allows my students to practice math skills, but also helps my students develop their "people" skills by playing constructively with their peers. Many kids these days spend hours plugged in to their gaming systems and phones. As a result, many kids no longer have exposure to being able to read and follow simple directions from a board game. By providing my students with board games, you will be providing them many opportunities for constructive play with their peers while allowing much needed practice of real world math skills.
