My classroom is innovative and active. I provide my students with opportunities to interact with the content in multiple ways in order to enhance the learning process. We use technology, interactive notebooks, and hands-on activities. Engineering is a focus of our standards so my students are often making models, diagrams, creating new products using their content knowledge and skills, and/or improving existing products/ideas. Science should be active and engaging, and every student should be given the opportunity to master concepts in their own way. Many of my students face adversity outside of the classroom, which can sometimes be a distraction in the classroom. I strive to provide a safe, encouraging, and exciting environment for my students with the hope that they can forget the outside world for a moment. I believe in my students, and my goal is to positively impact each of their lives.
