Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. The resources requested benefit my diverse learners and their non- IEP peers. For example, the alternative seating ( the wiggle chairs and the seating cushions) options will allow students to exert excessive energy in a positive manner and allow the students to attend to tasks more often. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating. The seating can also reduce the distraction caused by my active students' impulsive behaviors.
