My 9th grade students come from diverse backgrounds, both culturally and educationally. However, all of them are students in inclusion and special education classes. Their differences highlight unique challenges in terms of emotional concerns about their abilities juxtaposed with the innate desire to fit in. I teach in traditional public school, with a population that spans inner city through suburban.
