My students encounter hurdles that are out of their control such as limited financial resources and a variety of home languages. They come to class daily wanting to learn but we don't always get to delve as deeply into our subject because of a lack of materials. My school is innovative, passionate, and with a bright future ahead. Although we are short on resources in my classroom, my students are never short on the determination. My goal is to prepare students to be informed and responsible members of a diverse democratic society as well as to understand and participate successfully in local, national, and international events.
