My students are in the "Safe School Ambassador" program which teaches them how to effectively intervene in and stop acts such as: rumors, social media hazing, fights, acts against campus, bullying, and even learn how to stop events before they happen such as school shootings or other acts of violence. The students do anti-bullying presentations to our schools and to community organizations. They also create assemblies to educate elementary and middle school students about safety on campus, good character traits, good citizenship, helping others, understanding how their actions affect others, and what to do when they feel unsafe. The Safe School Ambassadors work weekly with each other and their mentors to learn and practice skills that create not only a physically safe campus but also an emotionally safe campus. Each day these students lead by positive-example and influence their friend's and peer's actions.
