We do A LOT of movement in our classroom. We work with small groups and buddies, complete sorts by moving ourselves to a certain spot in the room, and play learning games by finding the other person in the room who completes our match. We do centers for reading and participate in math workshop daily . . . We are committed to giving kids as many opportunities to move as possible, BUT there are moments in our classroom where we actually have to sit to complete a task, and this is where the wobble stools are going to be a lifesaver. It is hard for some students to sit still in their seats and complete their task. I have kids who need to rock, tip, lean, and/or wiggle to help them focus while they work. They want to do well and be successful, and having a stool instead of a standard chair will help them!
