The students in the classroom are learners with special needs. They qualify to receive special services in a preschool setting to help prepare them for their future school career. Many of the students come from a low income background. They haven't had a typical childhood with the challenges they face. This classroom provides a safe environment for them where they can learn and grow. Preschool is a place to learn many skills before entering into the big, demanding world of elementary school. For those with special needs, the day is filled with challenges that exceed your typical child's. Many of the students have weak hands due to their developmental delays. This affects their ability to do day-to-day activities that children their age can independently do.
