The social and emotional development of children has taken a backseat in recent years. Children's dependence on IPads, TV's, cell phones, and other technological stimulation has lessened their ability to relate to and communicate with one another. This dependence on technology has also lessened children's exposure to stimuli and their opportunities to feel and manipulate different types of materials. I need your help to provide these experiences to my students! The market stand will help students learn to interact with each other in an imaginative way. I will change out the stand routinely throughout the year (lemonade stand, flower shop, farmer's market, movie booth, etc.). The light table will engage students' senses. They will build on the light table, find and identify different letters, build sight words, and many other stimulating activities. With your help, I can provide my students with an education that will develop compassion, imagination, dexterity, and problem solving skills in each student that comes through my room. These tools for growth will assist my students in developing their entire self, and will grow with my students as they grow.
