When a student is overwhelmed and in crisis, it can be difficult for them to de-escalate and for them to feel safe enough to rejoin their classroom community. There are a variety of apps that are available to help assist a student in self-regulation skills and the development of social/ emotional skills. By utilizing engaging technology, a student can de-escalate more quickly to rejoin class. Having an iPad will also help the caregivers of my students more easily complete questionnaires when in meetings with me. This assists me in collecting data for my students I serve so I can find the best plan of intervention. The access to technology will assist my students in developing skills that will assist them in becoming successful life-long learners and successful citizens in our community.
