As we continue our non-fiction unit, a classroom set of the dynamic, emotional, thought-provoking El Deafo by Cece Bell will inspire reading enthusiasm, literacy, and social-emotional learning techniques for our fourth-grade students up to three grades behind in their ELA reading skills. Our students are bringing their best selves to our academic support program and we want to bring the best texts and projects to get them excited about reading, even after school. El Deafo is academically rigorous while being filled with humor and incredible illustrations sure to catch the eye of even our most reluctant readers.
