My students spend a lot of time at home in front of a screen, either television or video games. They may come to school tired and hungry. They have huge hearts and want to learn. I'm trying to go be them a comfortable, safe learning environment where they feel like family and can let their guard down enough to be willing to risk getting an answer wrong when actively participating in our lessons. They are learning to accept others.
