We are looking to add 4 Chromebooks to our classroom. At this time, we do not have any computers in our room. During literacy, the Chromebooks will allow the students to work in google classroom, write reports, listen to stories for comprehension and watch short videos to learn their sight words. During math centers, students will be able to visit math websites to practice the concepts we are learning, watch videos on lessons they are struggling with, practice their math fluency with timed tests, and create their own words problems to be shared with friends.
Chromebooks will allow the children to share their work with parents through portfolios! They will be able to document their work and submit it to a class account to be shared with parents. This will allow parents to connect to the work being completed in the classroom in real time.
The students are excited to work on the computers and it is a skill they need for their future. This class has been quick to learn computer skills when we have gone to the computer lab. They would love the opportunity to use a Chromebook everyday.
