My Resource classroom serves approximately 25-30 Kindergarten through 5th grade students every year. The following types of skills covered in our class (if written into the child's IEP) are: Math, Reading, Writing, Social, Behavioral, Organization, and Pre-Academic/Readiness. I might be biased, but the students that come to my class are simply amazing! I use various methods to create the best possible learning environment to support their needs. My room is colorful and has small work areas, with flexible seating/tables arrangements. The instruction is provided in small groups consisting of 3-5 students so that I can focus on the child and IEP goals. I provide mini lessons, independent and partner work, computer (instructional lessons), and practice with sight words or phonics. Unfortunately, little bodies and minds are not always able to cope with big emotions and sensory issues, this is why my class needs you!
