Every day presents a new set of issues in my student's lives. I am fortunate enough to be able to remove from reality for a bit. Having higher interest book for my students would entice them to want to read more and want to finish the book. Half the battle with teaching Language Arts is engaging the students into the content if the content was more their style and were able to relate to the topic. The books chosen were based on my low socioeconomic district and the challenges my student face daily. Hoping to teach them more than Language Arts with the topics chosen but some real-life experiences that might can in handy one day.
