My classroom strives to provide a rigorous learning environment that is safe, caring, and flexible so that students can graduate high school prepared to successfully transition to college and career. My students are ethnically diverse with the predominance of Latino students who have all failed in traditional school settings. Many have experienced family trauma and/or the stresses of poverty. I engage students through constuction technology with small class sizes, hands-on participatory learning, and flexibility in teaching. As a result, almost all students graduate and continue on to college or the work force.
