  • STEM Challenge Accepted

    Funded Nov 28, 2023

Thank you for choosing to make a donation to our students. These items will help them continue to explore the fields of engineering, science, and math. Your willingness to give will make an impression on these students for a life time. We look forward to getting started on our projects.”

  • First LEGO League

    Funded Aug 12, 2023

Thank you for your support of our Lego Challenge. Our students have created many designs and are working on their vehicle for their course in our local challenge next month.

With the diverse pieces that have been supplied or team has worked on different design ideas and our younger students have been able to have early access to the materials that help them in our morning makers club to design courses for our team to drive through.

Your donation has had an impact on our future engineers and allowed them to expand their ideas with the exposure to multiple supplies.”

  • Can You Hear Me?

    Funded Jan 12, 2023

First, I would like to thank you for donating to my classroom. My students were able to use the headphones and build the biggest growth in student data that I have ever seen! Many of my students struggle with focusing and having the ability to use noise canceling headphones was amazing. My students having headphones that didn't break easily that had a pop of color to show their personality warmed their hearts. Students made over 200% growth in their reading and math. Thank you so much again for your donation.”

  • Lego, Let's Go!

    Funded Dec 5, 2022

The Lego Spike Prime Sets have encouraged our girls to learn more about engineering and coding. The time that they have spent building robots that dance, rovers, and learning about the ability to use motors and cameras have opened their eyes to new possibilities. The girls were very excited to see the Lego Set arrive and had so many questions about how they could code the items. They have gained more appreciation for moveable devices and the steps that it takes to build them from scratch. Our future engineers are ready to continue to expand their knowledge through hands on activities. We hope you will consider contributing to our future projects. Thank you so much!”

  • Okay Google, Help Me Create a Presentation.

    Funded Nov 30, 2018

This project helped my students that did not have a device. They were able to work on creating video projects, type essays, and practice their math skills daily. They fit in with their peers and were not judged on if they could afford their own computer. The presentations that were created with the devices were very beneficial to their confidence and learning. With your support a great impact was made on their ability to trust in their skills acquired in our class to create many things. This donation you gave has impacted more students that you could have imagined.”

  • Paperback, Hardback Let's Bring Reading Books Back

    Funded Oct 14, 2022

The books that were donated to my class and Battle of the Books Club has made a major impact on my students. There are some students in my class that had not found their passion for reading in a specific genre yet. From the list of books that were donated at least a quarter of them were Graphic Novels. This genre blends our old love for comic books with a need for chapter books. It give continuation to stories without having to wait for the next issue. The ability to see the pictures and give visuals to chapter books have influenced my reluctant readers to try out the books and they loved them. Thank you for your donation.”

  • Mindstorms: Hands-on, Minds-On

    Funded Jan 14, 2020

My students and I are using the Mindstorms to build skills in teamwork, communication, and coding. Having the ability to build even more complicated robots and designs with the expansion pack has allowed the students to think of endless possibilities and even new careers they would like to pursue in the future. The students were so excited to receive this donation. They could not stop asking that day could they open it and begin a new build. When we are able to go back to school in the fall, many of the students will be taking my computer science for innovators and makers class to learn more about programming and will have the opportunity to use the mindstorms to create their own design.”

  • Using Our 5 Senses to Learn and Play

    Funded Nov 1, 2017

My students love the recess equipment and headphones. My students use the supplies everyday. They enjoy playing jump rope as a group with the long red rope and even share it with other classes that ask to play with them. Many of my students love playing soccer and the cones from the recess equipment comes in handy. They have designated goalies and have learned many cooperative/team building skills during the games.

When my students first saw the headphones they were so excited because many of them had no headphone to use when it was time to do individual computer lessons. The balls and bean bags were a hit when I began pulling them out of the box. The students were already naming games that they wanted to play for example, silent speed ball and basketball. They learned about hot potato and play hopscotch with the bean bags. The equipment helps them feel like there is never going to be a dull recess even on a rainy day because we have games that they can play in the classroom with the equipment and for my students that may want to do extra lessons on the computer, they have that opportunity to focus with their headphones.

Again we thank you so much for your support and donations.”

  • Extra Yard For Teachers Project

    Funded Oct 28, 2017

I would like to thank you so much for supporting my class. The wobble chairs are helping my students to concentrate on their work when in small group. Most students even ask if they can use the chairs at their personal desk to focus. I have one student that was reluctant to participate in small group, but now with the wobble chair option that student is the first person in their group to make it to the table and ready to work.

When they first saw the materials my students were so excited about being able to experience these fun chairs. My gifted students mentioned how they have seen the chairs at their gifted school and had been "dying" to sit on them. They helped me to assemble the chairs and everyone took turns testing them out. These chairs have also become an incentive for alternative seating. Some of my students really work hard to be able to sit in the chair and not become distracted. I think it may be soothing to my students that sometimes just need to feel that motion.

Thank you so much for the support.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. McRae

My students are the Future Leaders of America. They are very inquisitive and adventurous, but lack the technology to explore the world around them. They attend a Title 1school that is on 100% free lunch. My students love their time to use technology, but we only have 3 student computers and I let them use my teacher computer. My school district is moving into a digital way of life, but without Internet access at home and a limited amount of computers and time in class my students are limited in reaching their full potential as scholars.
