My students will be taught social skills lesson through the use of the social skills books, games and curriculum that I can buy from Teachers Pay Teachers. These social skills lessons will help teach my students skills they need in order to maintain emotional regulation throughout their day. When a student becomes frustrated or upset they can use the sensory/calming tools to help them de-escalate in my room in a calm, safe environment while protecting their dignity (for example-using the hanging canopy they will have some privacy to reset themselves without peers watching). The sensory tools will help them transition back into their general education classroom with their peers with safe bodies and calm minds to continue their learning.
