Alternative seating options allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. A lot of kids learn and work best while fidgeting and moving, and allowing students to work their energy out with alternative seating choices helps them to thrive. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. I have noticed amazing differences in students when they are given alternative seating options. They are more engaged, get more work completed and really take ownership of their learning. Students, especially those with ADD/ADHD, are less disruptive of their peers and more engaged when given a seating option that helps them move at their desk (like the wobble stools) while working. Allowing students the option of alternative seating helps them to take ownership of their learning and thrive in the classroom. The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them the alternative seating options to make more effective learning choices. The wobble stools will allow students to sit at their desk and provide some movement to get energy out while working to help keep them on task and less disruptive to their peers (great for students with ADD/ADHD). The colorful stools are great for my small group table, and can be easily moved throughout the room for other seating options. The inflatable wobble disks can be placed on the floor when working independently during quite time or to use in a chair at a desk to get the wiggles out while working. I'm confident that giving my students the options of alternative seating will contribute to our positive, persistent and thriving classroom and learning environment.
