Nonfiction text has become a critical component of reading in today’s classrooms. Learning how to navigate nonfiction texts helps students become stronger not just in reading, but in many other subjects such as social studies and science where the focus is on "reading to learn". Leveled nonfiction texts would provide us the opportunity to extend the range of topics explored in our classroom. This project will not only help my students this year, but for every year to come. We plan on using these materials during our guided reading lessons and look forward to seeing how much we can grow as readers!
