My classroom consists of a variety of students from many backgrounds. The one thing that they all have in common is that they come from one of the poorest cities in the state. Education is their only chance at a better future. In my classroom, these students become scholars. They study English Language Arts and how it connects to the world around them. In my classroom, scholars develop into writers and critical thinkers. They prepare to become productive citizens.
