It is crucial for students to develop a love for reading at an early age. To do that, students must have access to a wide variety of reading material that gives them plenty of opportunities to nurture that love and excitement for reading. As a first year teacher excited to begin this journey, I want to build a classroom library so that students are never without a book to read. The multiple book series that I have chosen, such as Henry and Mudge and Junie B. Jones, are wildly popular amongst the 2nd graders that will fill my classroom this fall. These books will be remarkable in ensuring that students have quality children's literature during independent reading time.
