"SCIENCE IS EVERYWHERE!" is the main theme to the Learning Lab, a safe and inspiring space for hands-on discovery and learning in southwest Ohio. While the physical location of the Lab is Riverview Elementary (an inner city school in Hamilton, Ohio), the impact of activities and experiments reach far beyond. In addition to hosting over 40 standards-based, hands on lab activities, the Lab also produced 23 weekly online webisodes called "Weird Science Wednesdays", using common items found in most homes and more deeply connecting students to life, physical and earth & space sciences beyond the schoolhouse. Currently, over 600 emerging leaders and young scientists tune in each week to watch (and also participate in) this production. Teaching science is resource/time intensive and teachers have commented that "Weird Science Wednesdays" helps them facilitate scientific conversations when they couldn't before.
