Density is an abstract concept that forms the basis of many standards that my 7th grade students will be expected to learn. As a new teacher this past year I struggled with teaching density to my students in a way that they could both understand and correctly apply to other topics. Having a physical representation of density using these density cubes will allow my students to better understand density by seeing it and touching it in real life instead of just reading about it or watching a video on it. Abstract ideas like density are difficult for most kids to understand without a physical representation they can see and touch. These density cubes solve that problem.
