I have tried to make my classroom a place that feels like a home away from home for my students, and myself. I know I tend to spend more time there then I do my actual home, and my students spend a fair amount of time there too, so it is important that everyone feels comfortable. I truly feel that when my kids walk through the door they feel safe and welcome, this supports the community we build throughout the year and, in turn, supports their learning. I will have an increased number of students joining the room this year, so the challenge will be to continue to make it feel homey, without being cluttered by extra items. I think it can be accomplished!
