Students will be reading these books to develop empathy for the diverse people who live and work in America. These books will be used for American History blocks. The book La Linea tells the story behind people who cross into the United States across our southern border and the book Stamped from the Beginning is the story of racism in America. Both books will help eighth-graders understand current events and current legislation in the United States. A student from last year commented that he appreciated going deep during lessons.

About my class
