The rocking motion of floor rockers will help students' sensory needs to be focused on the task at hand. Research shows that students tend to rock themselves naturally all the way into the teen years. It soothes the brain and facilitates concentration. It also helps the ability to think logically which leads to overall better cognitive processing. Alternative seating using floor rockers will help my students to feel more comfortable, more at home, and also relaxed while reading in my classroom. The benefits for my struggling readers with floor rockers is endless!
