Technology is great! It has enabled my students, who access adapted curriculum in non-conventional ways, get the quality education they deserve. Unfortunately, technology changes rapidly. New programs are coming out every day that can help my students engage in their learning; unfortunately, these apps won't run on the iPad that I currently have for my students to use in the classroom. This is why I am asking you to help me fund this project. Funding it means it not only gets a newer iPad into my students' hands but it also increases my technology-to-student ratio. Research shows that nothing will replace me as an educator. No amount of time in front of a screen can replace what I can do in small groups and one-on-one. I'm not requesting these devices to teach my students. I'm requesting them to enhance my own teaching and give them some control over their learning.
